The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Dentistry and Oral Health was established in 2008 to act as a forum for dental and oral health issues in Parliament, and works to raise the profile of dentistry, highlighting the views of both patients and the profession.

The Group brings together industry stakeholders with MPs and Peers from across the political spectrum to debate key issues and campaign to improve oral health and the quality of dental services.

The APPG holds regular events with expert speakers including Ministers, dentists, patient representatives and NHS officials. Former speakers include the then Health Ministers Earl Howe and Dan Poulter, former Health Select Committee Chair Rt Hon Kevin Barron MP, the author of the independent review of NHS dental services Professor Jimmy Steele and the previous Chief Dental Officer Barry Cockcroft.

The APPG welcomes any Parliamentarians interested in oral health, and continues to provide valuable opportunities for MPs and Peers to engage with the issues confronting their constituents, patients and the profession.
